CHRIST PANTOCRATOR

Christ as "Ruler of All" or "Pantocrator" is based on a fourteenth century prototype in the Chilandary monastery on Mount Athos. The fingers of Christ's hand, whilst blessing, seem also to form the shapes of the letters of his anagram. Powerful and intent, Christ looks at us from this icon. The cross in His halo reminds us of our Ruler's great sacrifice for us.
